Automation of a Sugar Cane Juice Extractor
The objective of this study was to automate a machinery that is used to extract sugarcane juice. A manual cane extractor, existing in the Honduran local market, was taken as a starting point, and the various modifications, both mechanical and electrical and electronic, were carried out to developed for its complete automation. Using the PIC18F45K22 microcontroller, which, with its powerful processing level, and with the sufficient number of input and output pins, is ideal for carrying out such automation, which will consist of the control of two motors, a liquid pump, an air solenoid valve for actuating a piston, infrared sensors, a PH sensor, and an ultrasonic sensor. All this with a control interface, using a 20x4 LCD screen and push buttons. Published in RED UNIA Journal of Agro-Industry Sciences.
